MEREDITH — Carole T. (Vaillancourt) Hatch, 64 of Meredith and previously longtime resident of Groton, MA passed away early on Thursday, February 19, 2009 as a result of an automobile accident.

Along with her husband Douglas, she is survived by her three children: Jilly, Ronnie and Bobby; their spouses: Brian, Lisa and Jessica; her seven grandchildren: Christina, Hillary, Michael, Samantha, Nicholas, Robert Jr. and Ashley; her brother Peter, his wife Kathy, and their family; her step mother-in-law Valerie J Hatch; two brother-in-laws, three sister-in-laws, many nieces, nephews, very close friends, and her beloved dog Sadie.

Carole was born Dec. 11, 1944 in Lowell MA, daughter of the late Rolland Vaillancourt and Gertrude (Watson) Vaillancourt. Carole grew up in Lowell and graduated from Lowell H.S. in 1962. She moved to Groton in the late 1960s and enjoyed waitressing at several Groton restaurants including the Groton Inn where she met her husband of 37 years. She also loved the time she spent working at the Beef and Ale when her son Ronnie was the head chef. After waitressing, she started working in long-term care for the elderly and continued this work even after moving to Meredith.

Carole was never more happy then when friends and family would stop by and in an instant she would whip up amazing platters and snacks. This was a holdover from her younger days when her family ran a catering business. She was an avid Gardener spending much of her free time maintaining her beautiful gardens and flowerbeds. Many passersby could not help but to stop and admire. She also enjoyed boating, camping, and finding the right knick-knack for the right spot in her house. She truly enjoyed life by bringing joy and happiness to everyone she knew.

A celebration of her life will be held in Carole’s honor Thursday, February 26, 2009 at 2 p.m. at Church Landing, 281 Daniel Webster Highway, Meredith NH. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of your choice.
