Ann E. Gavin, 98, passed away peacefully on Jan. 2, 2026, following a period of declining health.

Ann was born on July 15, 1927, in Providence, Rhode Island, the daughter of William J. McGovern DDS and Adeline Gorman McGovern. She was the loving wife of the late Hugh D. Gavin Jr. She lived in Warwick, Rhode Island, all her married life, and spent 20 years in New Hampshire enjoying Newfound Lake for summers and holidays.

She was a graduate of Cranston High School and attended Community College of Rhode Island and University of Rhode Island Extension. She was a volunteer at Kent Hospital for 15 years. She enjoyed traveling, playing golf and gardening.

She was predeceased by her husband Hugh D. Gavin Jr., her sister June Crane and her brother William J. McGovern.

She leaves behind three daughters, Gail Sharpe of Holderness, Janice Barnard of Hebron, and Susan Talbot of Warwick, Rhode Island; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Calling hours will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 7, at Dupuis Funeral Home, 11 Hill Ave., Ashland.
