GILFORD — Allen P. Rowson, 82, passed away at 4:11 p.m. on Oct. 13, 2026, at Concord Hospital in Laconia.

Born on July 14, 1944, in Fall River, Massachusetts, Allen was the son of the late John and Almy (Phillips) Rowson.

Generous, selfless, and always ready to make someone laugh, Allen had a personality that made life a little more fun for everyone around him. He had an adventurous spirit and was always up for whatever the day might bring, especially if it meant a spontaneous family outing or another trip to Disney World. He loved boating and traveling, but some of his most treasured times were the summers spent out on the water with his family on Lakeshore Park. Those days, surrounded by the people he loved, were what made him happiest. His family will always remember gathering around to listen to his stories, which he could tell for hours.

No matter where life took him, Allen never lost his sense of humor, his willingness to help others, or his excitement for the next adventure.

More than anything, Allen loved his family. He adored his wife, Sandra (Hanson) Rowson of Gilford, and treasured the time he spent with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Though Sandra teased Allen by nicknaming him “Hateful,” those who knew him knew he was anything but. Allen was endlessly proud of his family beyond words. He found joy in the simplest things, from playing with the grandkids to enjoying the egg salad sandwiches his great-granddaughter made especially for him. These small, everyday moments meant so much to him and are the memories his family will forever hold close.

Allen is survived by his wife, Sandra Rowson of Gilford; his son, Michael Rowson of Laconia; his daughters, Kelly Rowson of Laconia, and Nancy Morris of New Hampton; his brother, John D. Rowson of Gilford; five grandchildren, Andrew Rowson, Alyssa Nason, Dylan Rowson, Bradley Hebert and Amber Hebert; and two great-grandchildren, Gabriella Nason and Jackson Nason.
