HOLDERNESS — Join a Lakes Region Conservation Corps member for a guided and educational mountain bike ride through Whitten Woods. Participants will discuss some of the principles of conservation and its relation to trail use.
Basic techniques, tips and safety measures of mountain biking will also be reviewed. This program is open to all experience levels.
Those interested will meet at the trailhead for Wampahoofus bike trail on Highland Street, one mile from Ashland in Whitten Woods on Sunday, Oct. 8, at 10 a.m.; the event should conclude by noon.
Be prepared for about a five-mile ride, and bring appropriate gear. Program attendees should expect to learn more about the trails they use to enjoy mountain biking. In addition, they will be connected to other passionate members of the mountain biking community. Registration is required and closes at 10 a.m. on Oct. 7. Space is limited to five riders.
