LACONIA — When a loved one dies, life is never the same, and people face the task of making way through new terrain. Grief is unique to everyone.

Central New Hampshire VNA & Hospice support groups offer a safe place to share with others also learning to make their way in a changed world.

CNHVNAH is offering several grief support groups in Laconia and Wolfeboro this winter. All groups are confidential, free, non-religious, open to the public and facilitated by trained staff and bereavement care volunteers.

Living with Grief support groups meet for seven consecutive weeks, and are open to any adults who have lost a loved one. The Laconia group meets Tuesdays, 2-3:30 p.m., starting Jan. 28.  The Wolfeboro group meets Tuesdays, 2-3:30 p.m., starting March 10.

The First/Next Step groups are monthly drop-ins designed as a first step for adults who are newly bereaved, or newly considering joining a group. The gatherings are also a next step for those who have been in other groups to continue to connect and reflect on how grief and healing endures and changes over time, and ways to cope.

The Laconia First/Next Step group meets on the first Wednesday of each month, 3:30-5 p.m. at the Laconia CNHVNAH Office, 780 N. Main St.

The Wolfeboro First/Next Step group meets the second Tuesday of each month, 4-5:30 p.m. at First Congregational Church of Wolfeboro, 115 S. Main St. in Wolfeboro.

Parent Circles are monthly drop-in groups for parents grieving the loss of a child. The Wolfeboro Parent Circle meets the secnd Tuesday of each month, 6-7:30 p.m. at the First Congregational Church of Wolfeboro, 115 S. Main St. in Wolfeboro. The Laconia Parent Circle is still forming.
