FRANKLIN — Franklin VNA & Hospice was surveyed by the Center for Medicare and Medicaid services on March 19 and received a deficiency-free report.
FVNA was complimented by the CMS surveyors for a well-organized program and swift response to all the surveyors' requests. Surveyors also praised the caring and compassion staff displayed during their visits with patients while the surveyors accompanied them.
The survey's purpose is to ensure that all documentation, patient care practices, regulations, and conditions of Medicare and Medicaid participation are being followed precisely to the letter. Severe deficiencies on surveys can cause an agency to lose the ability to admit new patients until a problem is corrected, or even cause loss of service coverage for patients with Medicare and Medicaid. Deficiencies that wouldn't cause patient harm, like not having a required policy in place, may merely require a plan of correction but are still always noted on the survey results.
At Franklin VNA & Hospice, staff strive to educate all patients and the community on the support Hospice can provide. It is about living life to the fullest.
