Adam Choquette is the featured artist in the Busiel Community Room and Gallery at One Mill Plaza during the month of May. The 23-year-old Laconia painter has been making art all his life. His practice intensified over the past three years with a discipline to draw and paint every day. Seeing remarkable artwork and architecture while traveling in Italy was a great experience for the painter to capture the interesting compositions of the country's vistas. He is enrolled at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston where he plans to pursue his artistic studies of the human form through many different mediums.

Now being shown at the Busiel Mill is a select exhibit focusing on figurative approaches and experiments throughout the past year. The figure exhibit is open to the public all month during regular Mill hours.

Choquette has shown his work locally at Awakenings Espresso Cafe, Terra Perma, and Willows Steak & Spirits. He also participated in the Laconia Arts Day of 2008, the Laconia Main Street Palette Affair, worked with Maureen Bieniarz at her studio, and helped Gilford students paint a mural in the stars' dressing room at the Meadowbrook U.S. Cellular Pavilion. He is grateful to his mother and brother for their enduring support of his "insane" habits; canvases and art supplies tucked in every corner of the house can be cumbersome.

The Busiel Community Room and Gallery is located on the bottom floor of the Busiel Mill at One Mill Plaza, and is “just about eye level with the Winnipesaukee River that flows only inches away from the gallery windows,” says Busiel Mill Administrator, Joe Adrignola. “We have charming space here that we are pleased to offer to artists and share with the community.”

The Busiel Community Room and Gallery is open to visitors from 9-5 p.m. on weekdays and other times by appointment. Artists interested in displaying their work in this gallery should contact Joe Adrignola at 527-9176.
