PLYMOUTH —Tickets are currently on sale, and selling fast, for the 12th Annual Keep the Heat On event on Jan. 18.
The Plymouth Area Community Closet and the Keep the Heat On Committee are grateful to generous friends who have responded to the urgent appeal for fuel assistance funds for our neighbors. Tickets for the KTHO event are selling fast at Chase Street Market, sponsors are signing on to help in a big way, and new auction and raffle items are coming in every day.
The live auction, with Lisa Lovett and Terri Daucher, will be the culmination of a fun-filled evening that will include a silent auction, raffle and buffet dinner supplied by more than 20 of the area's finest restaurants and their chefs — all to raise money for local families in need of home heating fuel assistance. The contributions for the raffle and auctions — both silent and live — are truly extraordinary, so be sure to bring your checkbook or credit card to KTHO and help reach this year's goal of $50,000 for fuel assistance.
The auction committee is still deciding on a destination for this year's fabulous travel vacation, but it will be a place worthy of a "bucket lis!" Dreaming of a getaway close to home? How about a weekend retreat at Little Squam at a private cabin and guesthouse? Crave adventure? Come and bid on a skydiving experience.
Join and place bids on passes to a variety of area attractions to stay busy year-round, including lift tickets to favorite ski area. Browse the wide variety of items, including a beautifully framed lithograph by Michael Atkinson ("Canyon Lands"), a lovely hand-turned ash bowl by Dr. Fred Kelsey, and a quilling piece by Sandra White of Alton, (Cattails and Sunflowers").
The auctions will also feature products, services, and gift certificates donated by many generous area businesses, craftspeople and professionals. Too numerous to list, they range from practical – a haircut or an oil change for your car – to luxurious – several lovely pieces of jewelry and a beautiful handmade quilt. New items are being added to the list every day. PSU's Prospect Hall will once again provide the ideal browsing venue, and the KTHO decorating committee is planning a fabulous setting, with background music by the talented David Lockwood.
There are multiple reasons to go to KTHO: find some fabulous deals in the silent auction, enjoy a delicious meal created by our best local restaurants, and be entertained by the terrific live auction team of Lisa Lovett and Terri Daucher — all for the very important goal of helping neighbors in need. Can't be there? Consider joining as a sponsor or auction donor. The need has never been greater, and every contribution helps.
Tickets for the 12th annual KTHO are on sale at Chase Street Market for $40 and are available in limited numbers. To reserve a table for eight or more, call Susan Messinger at 603-707-9684. KTHO is organized and sponsored by the Plymouth Area Democrats, partnered with the Plymouth Area Community Closet in their continued mission to provide assistance to neighbors. KTHO — and the fuel assistance it helps provide — is entirely non-partisan.
