PLYMOUTH — The members of the Starr King Unitarian Universalist Fellowship, 101 Fairgrounds Road, Plymouth, welcome the Rev. Linda Barnes as their third settled minister. Barnes will be moving here from Ames, Iowa, where she lives on a small farm with her family. She has been a molecular biologist, a biology professor, an entrepreneur and a champion of sustainable agriculture. In 2012, she was honored as the National Champion for Change for Rural America in Washington, D.C. She received her Master of Divinity Degree from Meadville Lombard Theological School in Chicago and was ordained May 10 at the First Unitarian Church of Des Moines, Iowa. She is a mother of three – two young adult daughters and a teenage son, Martin. Mark Runquist is her husband and life partner. Barnes will begin her ministry at Starr King on Aug. 1.
