LACONIA — The SmokinStangs Laconia - Annual Northeast Mustang Rally will once again return to the Laconia area June 27-29.

After a one year hiatus, the event organizers are excited with anticipation of this year's rally. The rally still in it's infancy, had some growing pains the first two years (2011, and 2012), as participation was lower than projected.

In prior years the rally was hosted in early September, of which is basically the end of the high season for Laconia, but also the start of school season. September posed additional obstacles as well, to include Hurricane based threatening weather (as experienced in 2012). As weather is a very big, and influential factor for our rally participants, event organizers adjusted the rally dates, and now have moved this event to the last weekend in June.

The SmokinStangs Laconia Mustang Rally as it is currently structured, is a moving rally. The rally, by design, is designed to offer "Something for Everyone." Rally participants have the opportunity to come and go as they please, with activities taking place daily at various locations. Many of these activities are coined as motorized so they occur beyond the immediate Laconia area. These locations include New Hampshire Motor Speedway in Loudon, and New England Dragway in Epping. See official rally website for more info: www.SmokinStangs.com

The Lobster Pound Restaurant will serve host to a Meet-N-Greet on Friday June 27, starting at noon. The Meet-N-Greet serves as the official start to the rally, as well as a way to welcome rally participants into the region.

2014 marks a major milestone for Ford Mustang as the Mustang celebrates it's 50th anniversary.
