The Energy Committee of Sanbornton received a grant from the New England Grassroots Environmental Fund to install energy saving programmable thermostats in Sanbornton homes. They are currently looking for residents of Sanbornton who would like to switch their older thermostats for the newer programmable style which will automatically set the temperature lower at night or while the resident is at work. It is estimated that the use of these thermostats saves an average of $180 per year for homeowners on their heating bills.
These thermostats will be installed at no cost to the homeowner. They will be available on a “first come, first serve” basis, as there is a limited number available. In order to be eligible to receive one of these free programmable thermostats, you must be a homeowner with a propane or oil burning furnace, a year-round resident of Sanbornton, and be willing to participate in a one-time anonymous survey so that we can estimate and report back to the New England Grassroots Environmental Fund approximately how much energy/carbon emissions will be saved because of their generous grant.
If you are interested, please email the Energy Committee at:ecos@localnet.com or telephone the Energy Committee Chairman, Ian Raymond at his business office (603) 524-4130.
