The Aqua Aerobics Class (aka Aqua Bobbers) began their class on Sept. 21 with a grand celebration of the re-opening of the pool at the Gunstock Inn and Fitness Center. A red ribbon with a beautiful bow, donated by Whittemore’s Flower Shop in Laconia, was stretched across the newly painted pool with sparkling clear water. Fitness Director and teacher of the aqua aerobics class, Robin Allen-Burke, cut the ribbon amidst cheers from her class and all gathered.

Allen-Burke recently came in first place in an Olympic distance of the Lobsterman Triathlon in Freeport, Maine.

Amongst the others celebrating the day were the inn's owners, Richard and Maurine Bastille and Edward and Louise Bastille. Also there for the ribbon cutting was Aline Breton, owner of Chez Aline Family Hair Salon, which recently opened at the inn, and all the inn staff.

Richard Bastille and Chief of Maintenance Kevin Latour painted the pool themselves. It is a 75-foot, heated indoor swimming pool, which now boasts a state-of-the-art, chemical-free, salt filtration system, which makes the water crystal clear, and very body and swimsuit friendly. Jim Parker of Lake Winnipesaukee Pools of Alton oversaw the installing of the new water purification system.

The Inn offers memberships to its fitness center and guests of the inn may also enjoy the use of the pool and workout area. In addition to the pool update the fitness center expanded to allow the cardio-machines placement by the windows for an inspiring Lake Winnipesaukee and Ossipee Mountain view.

Gunstock Inn and Fitness Center is located at 580 Cherry Valley Road, Rt. 11A, Gilford, New Hampshire. For more information please call (603) 293-2021.
