PLYMOUTH — Plymouth State University announced that Bank of New Hampshire has signed on as corporate sponsor of the institution’s field house, located in the AllWell North building. Members of the PSU community, including members of the Panthers athletic teams, and Bank of New Hampshire representatives gathered at the facility Aug. 29 to officially launch the partnership with a brief ceremony.

“We are enormously grateful to Bank of New Hampshire for this generous gift,” said Paula Lee Hobson, vice president for advancement, Plymouth State University. “This marks Plymouth State’s largest corporate gift, and we are honored to partner with an institution that is so deeply committed to community service, civic leadership and strengthening our state by supporting organizations that share its mission.”

The Bank of New Hampshire Field House is home to a variety of PSU athletic teams, intramural sports and is the site of PSU’s commencement ceremonies each May. The 68,000-square-foot venue can also host events such as conferences and exhibitions, and will complement PSU’s new Merrill Place Residence Hall and Conference Center, a seven-story, 95,000-square-foot venue slated to open this fall.

“Our transformation to an integrated clusters model is not only expanding real-world educational opportunities for our students, but expanding Plymouth State’s role in the greater community,” said Donald L. Birx, president, Plymouth State University. “The field house plays an integral role in campus life, of course, but it is also a space where organizations and businesses can gather to network, learn, create and grow. With Bank of New Hampshire’s legacy of serving and enriching communities statewide, it is fitting for the field house to bear the Bank of New Hampshire name.”

“Bank of New Hampshire has provided financial services to residents and businesses of New Hampshire for more than 186 years,” said Paul J. Falvey, president, Bank of New Hampshire. “Throughout, we have remained true to our commitment to service and leadership in the communities we serve. We recognize and appreciate the important role Plymouth State University plays in the greater community, and are pleased to support their efforts.”
