Openings are still available for the Puppet Making Workshop at the Historic Belknap Mill on Sunday, October 2. People interested may call 524-8813 Saturday and Sunday. Staff will be checking messages Saturday evening. The Historic Belknap Mill will be open Sunday from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m.
The Mill is presenting a Cocoahouse for Kids performance and workshop featuring a Magical Puppet Circus with the renowned Yorick's Marionette Theater of Rhode Island. The Circus will perform at 2 p.m.
As with all Cocoahouse for Kids programs, admission for the program is $1 per child and adults admitted free. The Cocoahouse for Kids idea is based on the "Coffeehouse for Adults" idea. Refreshments will be served.
The workshop will follow at 3 p.m., with limited seating. In the workshop, children will learn how to make their own puppets, create a story and perform among their peers.
Laconia-Gilford Lions Club is sponsoring the performance and workshop, with additional support from New England Foundation for the Arts, National Endowment for the Arts and NH State Council on the Arts.
