Gilmanton Historical Society is offers a new publication. The Dear Old Lake, written and compiled by Elizabeth Widger Arms, describes "Memories of Crystal Lake and the Village of Gilmanton Iron Works." The 170-page book includes historic photos of people and places around the lake and Iron Works Village, together with recollections from families who summered at Crystal Lake throughout the 20th century. The book is available for $20 at the Town Clerk’s office in Gilmanton Corners or from the museum curator, Barbara Angevine, 267-6132.

The society’s board of directors looks forward to its 2007 summer programs, presented on the fourth Tuesday of each month, May through September. In addition to evening programs, the society has in recent years invited members and friends to join them for a field trip. If you have ideas for programs or a field trip you would like to offer or attend, contact president John Dickey: e-mail jdickey@metrocast.net, phone 267-6098, or 8 High Street, Gilmanton, NH 03237.

The society’s museum remains available to visitors by appointment by calling the curator at 267-6132.
