Masking-tape murals

Ashland Elementary School Middle Tier students who participated in the Masking Tape Mural Module at Ashland Elementary School invited families and guests to tour their creations. This was the culmination of a six-week class where students were given the task of selecting a person who has made a significant contribution to a specific field of study, like math, and creating a mural using only black masking tape to represent the person. Student creations included Walt Disney, William Shakespeare and Stephen Hawking. In all, 16 murals were completed. For the tour, students had the opportunity to discuss their subject and their process.
