Lakes Region Opera Company will offer the Puccini opera "Suor Angelica" on Saturday, Sept. 27 at 7 p.m. at the Concordia Lutheran Church in Concord and on Sunday, Sept. 28 at 2 p.m. at the Farmington Town Hall. This one-act opera will be fully staged and will present Jane Cormier, director of Lakes Region Opera in the title role.

"I have been so busy running LROC, it is a breath of fresh air to get back on the stage," says Cormier."I have been lucky enough to have performed all over the world, but singing here with LROC is particularly gratifying." Cormier has performed leading roles with many national and European opera companies, starring in the Vienna production of Webber's "Phantom of the Opera".

"Suor Angelica" will also feature winners of the 2007 Capital Region Opera Idol, which offered young singers the opportunity to compete for cash prizes and performance contracts."These young singers are just wonderful and to offer them a venue to perfect their art is what LROC is all about," says Cormier.

Tickets for "Suor Angelica" are $15 for adults and $12 for children/seniors and are available at Ballards in Concord and the Farmington Town Hall Recreation Department or by calling LROC at (603)781-5695.
