“Hot Shot” Swanson to headline Harlem Globetrotters appearance at TD Garden

BOSTON — Standing at only 4 feet, 5 inches, Jahmani “Hot Shot” Swanson will be the Globetrotters’ newest rookie when they bring games to TD Garden in Boston on Friday, Dec. 29. Swanson’s fame reached new heights one year ago when Kyrie Irving shared a video of Swanson dribbling a basketball down the street and “crossing over” a random pedestrian. Dubbed the “Kyrie Challenge,” Irving stated on his Instagram post, “I see you lil bro! Hit'em with the #kyriechallenge.”

The video on Irving’s Instagram account reached 1.4 million views and millions more on other platforms. Since the video, Hot Shot joined the Globetrotters on a trial basis and officially became a fulltime member of the world famous team on Dec. 7. Irving and Swanson met after the video went viral. The basketball stars reunited recently at Madison Square Garden while the Globetrotters were promoting their upcoming tour and the New York Knicks were facing the Celtics.

Swanson will lead the Globetrotters into TD Garden on Dec. 29 at 1 and 6 p.m. Swanson extended an invite for Irving to attend the Boston games.
