Free Art Drawings call attention to Lakes Region art gallery

TILTON — Jaclyn Vignati, of Concord, was the winner of Artist Marlene Witham's acrylic painting, "River Stones" in a recent free art drawing held by the Lakes Region Art Gallery. Jaclyn's mother told her, "You are never too young to start an art collection," so she signed up for the drawing and was delighted to win. Like Witham, Jaclyn is quite artistic in her own right having taken drawing, painting and photography in college and she currently enjoys the art of jewelry making.

Artist Marlene Witham, from Sanbornton, is a long time member of the Lakes Region Art Association and the Gallery, who has won numerous awards for her paintings. She particularly enjoys doing acrylic painting boats and still life, but paints various other subjects as well. Marlene has been one of the best-selling artists in the Lakes Region Art Gallery over the past year. Marlene and Teresa Spinner, also a well-know artist and oil painter, are currently holding a show of their artworks in the rear showroom of the gallery

The Lakes Region Art is located in the Tanger Outlets and is open Friday, Saturday and Sunday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. The Lakes Region Art Association, founded in 1940, is a nonprofit group providing education and support to local artists, both amateur and professional, in the Lakes Region. Art work by Marian Federspiel of Meredith, is the current free art piece for which a drawing will be held at the end of the month. Marian is a digital painter of landscapes and lakescapes from the mountain and lakes regions of New Hampshire. Anyone interested in art, as well as a chance to win free art, should stop by the gallery to view Marian's free artwork piece which is displayed in the window. Registration slips for the drawing are available at the gallery checkout counter; no purchase is necessary to register, however you need to be eighteen years or older to register. One registration per person, per drawing.
