Students of FBLA Laconia (Future Business Leaders of America) honored the memory Nathan (Nate) Babcock with a bake sale to benefit a scholarship fund set up in his memory. Nate was a senior at Gilford High School when he learned he had rhabdomyosarcoma, a rare form of cancer. He died in September of 2005. On April 19, members of the Huot Technical Center’s FBLA present a check to Nathan’s parents, Jim and Virginia Babcock for $162.50. FBLA is a student organization with an emphasis on learning business skills. Members learn about various business topics such as management, ethics, accounting, finance.
