GILFORD — Author Richard Adams Carey will give a talk about the 1997 murderous shooting rampage in Colebrook, this Thursday, April 6, at 6:30 p.m. in the Gilford Public Library.
Carey will discuss at length the events of Aug. 19, 1997, when Carl Drega murdered four people after a series of property rights grievances and frustration with small town legal systems. In his presentation titled "In the Evil Day," Carey will share information he has unearthed through meticulous research about that day. His talk will touch on history, local governance, and gun violence, among other topics.
This program is free and open to the public. It is sponsored by the NH Humanities Council.
