Christmas week, the “kids” at The Boys & Girls Club of the Lakes Region were the recipients of 50 amazing gift packages wrapped in clear plastic with a bow on each. They were each filled with a handmade child’s afghan, a stuffed animal, a knit hat and mittens set, a book, and candy. They were lovingly put together by some very special people at Baby Threads in Laconia. Bonnie Champagne and her staff created the packaging and stuffing. The blankets were handmade by Gemma Hammel and “friends” of the Sacred Heart Sodality. Gemma Hammel and her elf friend, “Tinsel”, graciously handed each out along with some great hugs. The B&G Club serves ages from 6 to 18 and these gifts will be going to to the club's younger members. Sara Nicolas, the new program director and Tori O’Hara, the new Kids Club director, gratefully acknowledged this special presentation. What a wonderful season of giving and receiving in this amazing Lakes Region! (Courtesy photo)
