Comedian who played bartender in 'The Sopranos' at Pitman's Saturday night

LACONIA — Stand-up comedy returns to Pitman's Freight Room in Laconia, this Saturday, Feb. 11, at 8 p.m. with national comedy star Frank Santorelli appearing along with Carolyn Plummer and rising star Matt Brown.

Pitman's is a bring your own food and drinks venue and tickets are $20, which may be purchased by contacting Pitman's at 527-0043, 494-3334, or tickets may be purchased at the door the night of the show. For additional information on this show check Pitman's website at www.pitmansfreightroom.com or for comedy information email msmith789@comcast.net.

Santorelli, Saturday's headliner, is a regular in Las Vegas and cruise ships and has been seen on Conan O'Brien, Comedy Central, HBO Comedy Showcase, Showtime, network television and films. Santorelli is best known for his recurring role as Georgie on the hit HBO series, The Sopranos as well as appearing in the Showtime series The Brotherhood, and NBCs Law and Order. His film credits include Meet the Parents.

Santorelli is a long time Boston based comedian who headlines across the country and will be making his third trip to Pitman's since the room started doing comedy in 2012.

"That's a great room," said Santorelli. "It's the only room we work where you have to co-star with a dog," he added referring to the ever present "Rory" who is the resident canine belonging to Pitman's owners Dick and Connie Mitchell.

Working the middle will be Plummer who is a regular on USO Tours, as well as working with the Funny Ladies of Comedy Tour, and the top New England comedy clubs. Opening the night will be Brown, a rising comedy star who is rapidly climbing the comedy ranks.

Pitman's is expecting a large crowd following a January show which went head to head with the Patriots playing the Texans in the NFL Divisional Round of the playoffs leading to a crowd well below the average of 150.

"We expect the crowd to return to their regular numbers," said Dick Mitchell. "We got caught in a scheduling situation which put a lot of our comedy people in a position where they had to make a choice between the show and the Patriots. We are here every month so many comedy regulars chose the Patriots."
