Chief interior designer of Mill Falls at the Lake retires after 34 years

MEREDITH — Patricia Sava of Sava Designs LLC, originally from Waterville Valley, now of Bozeman, Montana, has announced her retirement after 34 years as the chief interior designer of the 171-guest-room premier resort Mill Falls at the Lake in Meredith.

Sava began her collaboration with Rusty McLear in 1984 with the original of five hotels, the Inn at Mill Falls. She continued to lead the charge of the resort’s design as the property grew in 1995 with the addition of 24 guest rooms at Bay Point at Mill Falls hotel, which is perched at the tip of Meredith Bay. In May of 1998, the 23-room Chase House at Mill Falls hotel was constructed and Sava expanded her expertise into banquet, meeting spaces and spa. Sava’s most noted achievement in the collaboration over the years came with her stunning Adirondack design for the 57-room lakeside hotel, Church Landing at Mill Falls. Her design brought the property numerous local awards and recognition. In 2012 she brought her unique Adirondack style to new heights with the addition of 13 deluxe guest rooms in the Lodges at Church Landing.

During this entire period, Sava worked closely with Rusty McLear, president and CEO of Hampshire Hospitality Holdings, LLC and the owner of Mill Falls at the Lake Resort. They have been friends for 40 years.

“Pat’s work created a timeless and recognizable style and grace that stood out in the hospitality industry," said McLear. "We are appreciative of the time she spent at Mill Falls and she will be greatly missed.”
