The League of NH Craftsmen is offering a series of basket classes with basketmaker Liz Lapham, with the first scheduled on June 21. This class on making a "Market Basket" is for all levels of ability. The finished basket will feature a country look, and will have different weaver widths to create contrast. Tuition is $45.00 with a separate materials fee paid to the instructor at the time of the class.

The August 16 class will lead students through the production of a "Pottery Wall Basket." This mid-to large size wall basket has a hand thrown pottery sleeve. Tuition is $45.00 with a materials fee of $50.00 or less.

On August 19 the session will cover the creation of a Window Sill Basket. This rectangular basket is just wide enough to sit on a window sill. It can hold three small potted plants but has many other uses. Tuition is $45.00 with a materials fee of $50 or less.

All classes will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at The Gallery, located at 279 DW Hwy. in Meredith. Class size is kept to a minimum to give personal attention, so it is advisable to sign up early.
