On December 13, Laconia Savings Bank held its annual Teddy Bear Party. This year, the 96 teddy bears that the bank’s employees have dressed are on display in a Santa’s Workshop setting at Laconia Savings Bank’s 62 Pleasant Street office in downtown Laconia.
The Teddy Bear Party is in support of The Salvation Army’s annual “toy basket” distribution project for needy, area children. The bank has been involved for more than 15 years in this very worthy project.
The Salvation Army provides Laconia Savings Bank’s employees with the bears to be dressed. These well-appareled teddy bears are then given to children in the area in time for Christmas.
In addition, Laconia Savings Bank’s 17 offices — located throughout Central and Northern New Hampshire — are also supporting The Salvation Army Giving Tree Program. Each office has a Christmas tree adorned with holiday gift cards. Each of these gift cards has a child’s special holiday ‘wishes’ on it. The Salvation Army then picks up all the gifts and distributes them to area children in time for Christmas morning.
“Helping those in need is a great way for Laconia Savings Bank employees and customers to give back.” stated Bruce Clow, president and chief executive officer. “It is great to see the community coming together to make Christmas a joyous time for children.”
