Artisans by the Bay has new location

MEREDITH — Artisans by the Bay, which began last spring promoting the creative works of area artisans, has found a new home. The gallery is now located within Oglethorpe Fine Arts & Crafts at Mill Falls Marketplace in Meredith.

Oglethorpe has been in business since 1994, proudly supporting American-made by carrying the works of talented artists and craftsmen from across the United States. Upon hearing that Artisans by the Bay was looking to expand and needing space, a conversation between the two businesses occurred and the partnership was born.

Artisans by the Bay features a diverse mix of quality fine art and handcrafted items offered for sale by local artisans. The local community and visitors will continue to find a diverse mixture of quality work at Artisans by the Bay complementing the work carried at Oglethorpe’s.

Works include regional nature and scenic subjects captured in the photography, watercolors and oils, digital paintings, and the felted pieces. The array of functional pottery, decorative ceramics, crafted cards, printed and dyed clothing and linens, beaded and fused glass jewelry make ideal gifts for all occasions. The glass garden ornaments, woodenware, stained glass, and unique collages are special pieces for any home.

Pleased to have Artisans sharing their space, Oglethorpe’s gallery has been renovated to accommodate the new mix of the two businesses and the seasonal events and demonstrations planned. The participating local artisans are very excited to be associated with this long-standing business that celebrates all things handmade.
