LACONIA — The Laconia Democrats will hold their next meeting on Tuesday, May 16, at 6:30 p.m. at the Unitarian Universalist Society, 172 Pleasant St., in Laconia.
Guest speakers from Granite State Progress, a statewide research and communications hub, will be Zandra Rice-Hawkins and Timothy McKernon, who will talk about their group's initiatives and activities across New Hampshire. The event is free and open to the public.
"What are the goals of Granite State Progress?" said
Liz Merry, Laconia Democrats' Committee chair, said Granite State Progress's goals are "Everything from engaging citizens around issues of immediate state or local concern to challenging conservative agendas." She added, "This meeting will provide a way for you to hear directly from the organizers, as well as to ask questions about the community issues that are important to you."
