LACONIA — Pastor Robert N. Horne of the Bible Speaks Church celebrated 50 years of ministry in the service of Jesus Christ. On June 3, 1967, he was ordained to the Christian ministry at the South Baptist Church in Laconia and was called to serve for seven years in the Wolfeboro Falls Baptist Church.
Following his seven years of service, he was asked to teach Bible and Theological Studies in a Bible School in South Berwick, Maine, for two years. When the school moved to Lenox, Mass., he moved with it and continued his teaching for the next 11 years.
In 1987, he was called to take the pastorate of the Bible Speaks Church, located in Lakeport, where he has ministered for the past 30 years.
Pastor Horne was honored at the church with a congratulations banquet and a plaque which, summing up his ministry, stated: “Your devoted walk with the Lord has been an example to all as you have faithfully preached God’s Word and served Him wherever He has place you.”
