WOLFEBORO ― Ready, set, paddle.
The 50th Annual Great Smith River Canoe and Kayak Race returns Saturday, May 16, at Albee Beach in Wolfeboro. Hosted by the Wolfeboro Lions Club, this beloved event celebrates 50 years of paddling, with a fun and scenic four-mile course featuring calm water, a 1/4-mile stretch of Class 2 rapids, and two portages.
New this year: an earlier start time. Registration runs from 8 to 10 a.m., with the race starting promptly at 10:30 a.m. Participants are encouraged to arrive early, as registration closes at 10 a.m. sharp.
Registration is at form.jotform.com/240255158509053. Paper forms are available at the Wolfeboro Chamber of Commerce.
Following the race, join the dockside celebration with an awards ceremony and BBQ. All registered paddlers receive a hamburger or hot dog lunch, with food available for purchase by spectators.
All proceeds benefit Wolfeboro Lions Club Charities. Whether you’re racing to win or just in it for fun, grab your paddle and be part of this 50-year tradition.
