LACONIA  — The TWC Wavemakers Swim Team recently finished their summer season. The season had a wide variety of meets ranging from fun relays, quad meets, pentathlons and season ending Championships.

The season kicked off in June at the relay meet hosted by the Concord YMCA. No individual events were contested as teams entered swimmers in a wide variety and mix of relays to kick off the season.

There were two meets at Peterborough in July. The first was a “quad” meet where the Wavemakers competed against Peterborough, Salem Boys and Girls Club and the Concord Y. No team scores were kept but the Wavemakers earned many first place finishes.

The second Peterborough meet was the 19th Pentathlon. In this meet swimmers had the chance to swim all four strokes (butterfly, backstroke, breaststroke and freestyle) and then swim the individual medley. Times from all five events were added and the lowest times determined the best overall swimmers Top Wavemaker finishers were Jolie Ruggles (2nd 10 & Under Girls), Chael Smithson (3rd 10 & Under Boys), Jake Jennings (1st 11-12 Boys), Sabine Halm (2nd 13-14 Girls) and Kyle Dumais (2nd 13-14 Boys).

While the Tokyo Olympics ongoing, the Wavemakers swam their last meet at the New England Silver Championships held in Manchester.  The Wavemakers came away with 21 top 10 finishes: Kyle Dumais (4 top 10 finishes), Kendall Perdue (3), Jolie Ruggles (3), Ayla Weeks (3), Lucy Correira (2), Kellan Ruggles (2), Chael Smithson (2), Jake Dumais (1) and Kain Perdue (1).

In addition 11 year old, Jacob Jennings finished 2nd overall out of 62 swimmers in the 1 kilometer race.
