LACONIA — As winter approaches, the Laconia Kiwanis Club is giving residents a chance to warm their homes — and hearts — with its annual $1,000 Fuel Raffle.

Every ticket supports programs that directly benefit local children, from KARES (Kids and Reading Equals Success) literacy visits to Bike ’n’ Board Safety Day and scholarships for graduating seniors. Proceeds also help fund youth sports and community support programs that make a lasting difference in children’s lives.

“Buying a ticket isn’t just about winning fuel — it’s about investing in a child’s future,” said Laconia Kiwanis Club member Betty Ballantyne.

Only 300 tickets will be sold, and the winner will choose their preferred fuel type — propane, oil, natural gas, or pellets. The drawing will be held on Saturday, Nov. 1 at 6 p.m. or sooner if all tickets are sold.
