MEREDITH — The CAT Trio will perform at The Loft at Hermit Woods on Thursday, March 16, 5:30-9 p.m.
The CAT Trio features pianist Carmen Staaf, drummer Austin McMahon and bassist Tony Scherr. The members actively tour with Dee Dee Bridgewater, Bill Frisell, Jerry Bergonzi and Norah Jones, and have performed at iconic venues such as the Village Vanguard, Lincoln Center and the White House.
CAT Trio has a modern jazz piano trio sound that draws influence from the whimsical music of Thelonious Monk, the introspection of Bill Evans Trio, the bounce of Bud Powell, rhythms from Latin America and the lush harmonic landscapes of classical music.
