MEREDITH — The Winnipesaukee Playhouse is bringing back its popular fundraising event, ImprovOlympics!, a one-night only special improvisational comedy event to benefit not only the Playhouse but four other area nonprofits. Teams from the Lakes Region Community College, New Beginnings, Partnership for Public Health, and WestBridge will compete in the style of the TV show “Who’s Line is it Anyway?” to win laughs and votes. Audience members will have the opportunity to vote with their wallet (cash, check, or credit card) for their favorite nonprofit and 100% of proceeds from the voting will go directly to the participating nonprofits.

Lakes Region Community College is a leading institution dedicated to providing high-quality, affordable education and training opportunities that meet the ever-changing needs of individuals, businesses, and communities. New Beginnings is dedicated to ending sexual, domestic, and stalking violence through the provision of safe and effective services, including emergency refuge and support; and works toward social change by promoting an effective community response to violence. Partnership for Public Health's mission is to lead and partner in public health strategies across the Lakes Region and New Hampshire for safer and healthier communities. WestBridge’s mission is to compassionately provide mental health and substance use treatment to individuals and their families. The WestBridge Recovery Opportunity Fund’s mission is to provide financial assistance for treatment to individuals with mental illness and co-occurring substance use disorders.

In past years, the event has raised thousands of dollars for the four participating nonprofits, thanks to the generosity of a full house which came together to laugh and support the local community.

The event will take place on Saturday, Oct. 24 at 7:30 p.m. at the Winnipesaukee Playhouse in Meredith.

Tickets are available online at winnipesaukeeplayhouse.org or over the phone at 603-279-0333.
