Speare adjusts visitor policy, delays elective procedures

Visitor Policy

Speare has instituted a restricted visitor policy. One healthy birthing partner will be permitted for maternity patients. One healthy visitor may accompany a patient to the oncology department. One healthy parent or guardian will be permitted for pediatric patients. One healthy person at a time for patients at end of life.

Anyone bringing patients for outpatient services or an appointment in physician practices will be able to only drop off and pick up the patient.

Entrance Restrictions

The hospital main entrance will be open Monday-Friday, 6 a.m.-5 p.m., and closed on weekends.

The emergency department entrance is open Monday-Friday, 6:30 a.m.-7 p.m., and weekends, 7 a.m.-7 p.m.

The ambulance entrance should be used at all other times.

The entrance to Boulder Point is open Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.-5 p.m.

Patient and Visitor Screening

All patients and visitors of Speare Memorial Hospital, Boulder Point and other locations will be screened for symptoms associated with COVID-19.

Patients with scheduled appointments or seeking medical care who screen positive will be given a face mask.

Delaying Elective Surgeries and Procedures

Speare is delaying some elective surgeries and procedures. Staff are reaching out to patients who meet the criteria for the delay. Patients should contact their provider with questions.

Volunteers, RehabFit, Conference Rooms

The Volunteer Program is temporarily suspended as well as use of conference rooms by outside groups. RehabFit will closed until further notice.
