GILFORD ― The South Down Shores Home & Garden Club recently hosted Nicole Ceja, assistant vice president, Prestige Plus Officer at Bank of New Hampshire, to present an Organizing & Decluttering seminar on July 16.

Ceja’s presentation covered the practical ― tips on establishing routines to keep clutter at bay, where to start (the junk drawer), the difference between decluttering and organizing, and where to donate items ― as well as emotional considerations for figuring out why items are being saved and what purpose they are serving. Much of the discussion centered around how to honor loved ones and family legacy by keeping one or two meaningful items and passing the rest on the others who need them.

Ceja’s great tips on establishing routines to keep from accumulating too much “stuff,” and room by room guidance for decluttering, as well as discussions on the benefits of a clutter-free home, inspired club members to go home and begin some decluttering.
