Registration now open for the annual Lakes Region Pumpkin Figure Contest

Registration is now open for the Lakes Region Scholarship Foundation’s Annual Lakes Region Pumpkin Figure Contest fundraiser.

“Get ready to let your patriotic spirit shine,” said Executive Director Chris Guilmett. “As America celebrates its 250th birthday and LRSF marks its 70th anniversary, we invite you to bring your most creative red, white, and blue ideas to life. This year’s pumpkin figures will be judged on how proudly and creatively they celebrate America.”

Kim Lacasse, the foundation’s assistant director, said she is excited to build on the success of the annual Pumpkin Figure Contest.

“The time participants put in, the creativity they show, and their willingness to share their creations with the community are wonderful to see,” she said. The seasonal fundraiser has become a community-wide tradition. Along with the patriotic theme, entries will be judged in several categories, with prizes awarded.

“Over the years, we have seen amazing entries from families, businesses, schools, individuals, and nonprofit organizations, and we are excited to see this year’s creations,” Guilmett said. Registration is available through the Pumpkin Figure Contest tab on the foundation’s website. Visitors can also purchase tickets for two additional fall fundraisers: the popular Cakes ’n Sweets Calendar Raffle and the new Harvest Gift Card Haul Wreath Raffle. Pumpkin Figure Contest participation is not required to buy raffle tickets.

The contest is open to individuals, families, schools, businesses, and nonprofits. Each pumpkin figure must include at least one pumpkin. To qualify, entrants must live in the Lakes Region, and entry forms must be received by Lakes Region Scholarship Foundation by Oct. 9. Judging will take place Oct. 15- 17. An interactive map of pumpkin figure locations will be available to download from the foundation’s website for those planning a fall outing.
