PLYMOUTH — The New Hampshire Department of Transportation will begin repair work on the rail seals and pavement at the Route 175A railroad crossing in Plymouth the week of Monday, Oct. 19, between the hours of 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Crews will be working on one side of the crossing at a time, and the work is expected to take two days to complete.
NHDOT District 3 Highway Maintenance crews will be working alongside staff from the Bureau of Rail and Transit and the railroad operator to make the repairs. Flaggers will be used to help direct traffic around the roundabout adjacent to the crossing in the reverse direction, one approach at a time, while work is taking place. Drivers in the area should expect delays.
Message boards will be set up in advance on all approaches to notify motorists of the upcoming work.
Road users are reminded to adhere to the Move Over Law (Sherrill’s Law) when approaching the work area, remain alert, and obey all message boards and posted signs. Road users are also encouraged to sign up for free, real-time construction and traffic related messages (text or email) from newengland511.org.
