POLIQUIN

LACONIA — Trish Poliquin has joined the advisory board of Got Lunch! Laconia.

Poliquin has been an active volunteer with the program providing healthy food to families in our community for seven years. She has lived in Laconia for the past 20 years, after graduating from Keene State College and settling down in Laconia with her husband, Larry Poliquin.

While raising two sons (now a freshman and a junior at Laconia High School), she has served as advancement chair and committee member of Boy Scout Troop 68, chartered by St. Andre’ Bessette Parish. It is through scouting that Poliquin first volunteered for Got Lunch! Laconia. Troop 68 began packing two delivery routes for Got Lunch! Laconia but the advisory board quickly recognized that the Boy Scouts had many other gifts to offer. Poliquin coordinates the scout volunteers who now manage the parking for the delivery drivers, as well a the packing and distribution of the fresh vegetable portion of the program.

Poliquin is a special education teacher at Elm Street Elementary School in Laconia and has been employed with the Laconia School District for more than 10 years. She said Got Lunch! Laconia is a rewarding effort and that she has a deep sense of satisfaction knowing that her efforts are supporting the students and families she interacts with directly at school on a daily basis.

Poliquin is looking forward to being an active participant and visible member of the Got Lunch! Laconia Advisory Board.
