LACONIA — Climate Café Lakes Region is hosting an information session presented by Lee Webster of Natural Burial NH at the Laconia Public Library on Thursday, Oct. 15, from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. in the conference room.

Natural, or green, burial includes all forms of burial that utilize no concrete, plastic, or fiberglass vaults; involves biodegradable caskets and shrouds made of native softwoods or organically grown fibers; and uses noninvasive chemical preservation methods, such as cooling. Burial depth is a 3.5 to 4 foot depth.

Natural burial sequesters carbon, nourishes the soil, and provides a means of conserving land for centuries to come. The goal of Natural Burial NH is to grow a community of Granite Staters who understand and support natural burial so they can make educated decisions that impact their families, friends, and our state's environmental and economic health.

The public is invited to attend the Oct. 15 presentation. Climate Café is locally focused, non-partisan, and requires no membership. Climate Café Lakes Region launched in February 2026, and has offered information on a variety of topics selected by the Climate Café community.
