LACONIA—The Laconia Historical and Museum Society presents New Hampshire’s first and best story, Laconia’s Origins and Rediscovery. Join historical figure Charles Vaughan for a two-part live stream introductory presentation about how Laconia became the city it is today.
Until the 18th century, present day Laconia lands were occupied by the Algonquin Indian Nation and corresponding Tribes. By 1763 the frontier was open for settlement. Laconia’s story begins with this two-part live stream series provided by Greenhouse Recording Studio of Gilford.
Part One can be viewed on the LHMS Facebook page or on YouTube, Monday, April 26 at 6:30 p.m. Part Two will air on Monday, May 24 at 6:30 p.m. Beginning in June, LHMS will continue the series with stories and more about the Founders, the Expansionists, and the Incorporators of Laconia each week on the LHMS Facebook page.
