MOULTONBOROUGH ― Almost 100 members of The Moultonborough Women’s Club gathered to finish out the year in grand style with a special luncheon at Foster’s Boiler Room in Plymouth.
One purpose of the luncheon was to install next year’s officers, which was swiftly completed since there were no changes in the line-up. The big news, as it has been since 2019, was the Woman of the Year award, which was created with a $2,000 donation by an anonymous donor. Co-President Wendy Monbouquette eloquently explained the criteria used to select an award winner which include strong leadership and sustained dedication, service and volunteerism. Past President and Director Libby Reichlen embodies all those characteristics and generously shares them with the MWC. It was such a pleasure to see her properly recognized and rewarded.
Although club meetings won’t resume until September, that doesn’t mean there won’t be fun activities all summer, thanks to the activities committee led by Mary Bishop and Jan Flanagan. Plans include an Ice Cream Social at Kellerhaus, a book club meeting, a sound bath at Scissorgy and a field trip to pick lavender at Pumpkin Blossom Farm in Warner. The MWC will also be marching in the Moultonborough Fourth of July Parade and, of course, baking fabulous treats for the bake sale held in conjunction with the Moultonborough Library Book sale on July 11.
