Laconia-Gilford Lions Club will host its spring electronic waste collection fundraiser on Saturday, April 6, 8:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m., in the parking lot of Gilford Cinemas 8. For a disposal fee, the group will safely collect and recycle electronics as well as Teflon pots and pans.
Accepted items include laptops, PC towers, monitors, servers, CD/DVD players, camcorders, AV equipment, VCRs, speakers, copiers, faxes, scanners, printers, phones, and humidifiers for a $5 fee. Items such as microwaves, air conditioners and dehumidifiers are $10 with larger items such as TVs costing $20-$30 depending on size. Larger items will be charged based on weight. Teflon pots and pan can be recycled for $1.
Anything with a cord will be accepted.
The group will not be collecting smoke detectors, oils, paints, thinners, batteries (except car batteries), tires, items containing mercury such as fluorescent and CFL light bulbs or thermometers, capacitors, ballasts, or any other hazardous waste.
This project has been officially sanctioned by the Green Sanctuary Committee of the Unitarian Universalist Church of Laconia.
