‘Kids Adopt a Shelter’ launches 15th Anniversary Holiday Drive

TILTON — Kids Adopt a Shelter, a registered nonprofit organization, officially launches its 15th Anniversary Holiday Drive & Santa Box Project. In celebration of this major 15-year milestone, the volunteer-led organization is mounting its most ambitious campaign yet, aiming to scale its support into multiple states to provide essential supplies, food, and comfort to thousands of shelter and rescue animals.

The Santa Box Project serves as a lifeline for animal shelters, rescue organizations, and foster networks by delivering customized holiday care packages directly to animals awaiting adoption. Each box is carefully packed with comfort items, treats, toys, and healthcare supplies designed to improve the quality of life for sheltered pets during the holiday season.

“We are thrilled to celebrate 15 years of supporting the incredible shelters and fosters who work tirelessly for these animals,” Sean Geyer, president and project lead of Kids Adopt a Shelter, said. “With the community's support for this anniversary drive, we can dramatically expand our support footprint, cross state lines, and ensure that countless more animals feel warmth, safety, and love while they wait for their forever homes.”

How local businesses, communities can help

To meet its multi-state expansion goals, Kids Adopt a Shelter is urgently calling on business owners, corporate sponsors, and community members to contribute to the 2026 drive. The organization is actively seeking the following 100% tax-deductible donations:

• Pet Comfort & Play: New toys for dogs, cats, and small animals; blankets, pet beds, and cozy items
• Nutrition: Unopened, store-bought treats and chews; unexpired canned and dry pet food
• Care & Safety: Collars, leashes, harnesses, and grooming supplies (brushes, shampoo, nail clippers)
• Facility Supplies: Disinfectant wipes, paper towels, and pet-safe cleaning solutions
• Financial & Retail Support: Gift cards (Amazon, Chewy, major pet stores, big-box retailers) and monetary donations to cover escalating shipping and multi-state distribution costs
