LACONIA — Chef LaShunda Allen, local baker, is bringing her expertise to Prescott Farm Environmental Education Center by teaching a series of baking and cake decorating classes.
Allen once captivated the Laconia community with her bakery, but health challenges led her to the difficult decision of closing her bakery. On Saturday, June 22, she will be teaching a series of baking and cake decorating classes where participants can learn from her experience and incredible talent. Participants will have the opportunity to master baking techniques under the guidance of a true professional.
In other activities at Prescott Farms, Clare Persson will lead a Mindfulness Walk on Saturday, June 22, as part of a wellness program series. Participants for this program will immerse themselves in nature and learn mindfulness meditation techniques.
Additionally this month features the course Inside the Beehive, which is an exploration of beehives. On Saturday, June 15, attendees can get an up-close look at the Prescott Farm beehives through the farm’s observation hive and watch a beekeeper in action, learning about the crucial role bees play in our ecosystem.
