LACONIA ― The Boys & Girls Club of the Lakes Region is pleased to announce that Sandwich resident Joanne Haight has been hired as its first development associate for the Lakes Region. In this new position, Haight will share the Club’s story and generate local support for the organization’s early childhood, after-school and summer camp programs. Haight brings deep knowledge of the area, having previously held community engagement and fundraising positions for the Lakes Region Chamber of Commerce and Lake Winnipesaukee Alliance.
The Club’s CEO Chris Emond said he was thrilled by Haight’s addition to the team.
“We’re fortunate to have someone of Joanne’s caliber and experience working on behalf of Lakes Region kids. Adding this new position says so much about how far we’ve come as an organization. I’m excited to see where Joanne and the rest of the development team can take us, as the need for childcare and youth development services continues to grow,” he said.
Haight will be working closely with the Club’s Director of Individual and Planned Giving Jon Clay to implement “Discovery Hour” tours throughout the Lakes Region.
“Discovery Hours are a great way for individuals to learn about the Club, because they get to hear the personal stories of real Club members and staff,” Clay said. Haight also will lend her expertise to the Club’s signature events: a Golf Tournament and Classic Car Gala.
Haight said she is looking forward to her new role, adding, “I just had a chance to hear a group of young Club members talk about their experience at the Boys & Girls Club. It was truly inspiring to see the impact of our work firsthand. I am so grateful for the opportunity to be part of Team Boys & Girls Club.”

The Boys & Girls Club of the Lakes Region is a division of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Central and Northern NH.
