The second annual Career Fair at Inter-Lakes Elementary School has reached new heights. Students from pre-K through grade six participated in this exciting indoor and outdoor event, where they had the opportunity to meet over 20 local business and community members to get an up-close look at the equipment and tools used in a wide range of careers. This hands-on experience sparked curiosity and brought careers to life. Organized by the two ILES school counselors, Kate Clark and Ashley Shuffleton, the Career Fair complements school-wide classroom lessons focused on exploring future careers. For example, sixth grade students work with their school counselor to learn how to use Xello, an interactive career exploration platform. Students complete interest inventories, receive personalized career matches based on their interests, and have the opportunity to research those careers. Xello is a partnership from the NH Department of Education and Granite Edvance. Shown here are Kyle and Wes from Moulton Farm with a student in the center. (Courtesy photo)
