MEREDITH — The Friends of the Meredith Public Library group is adding a new way to sell donated books beyond the tri-annual book sales and the bookstore in the library basement. They will now be selling books in themed lots via online auctions. The auctioneer is Orfantiques located in Center Conway.

Over the next few months, there will be a series of themed lots. The first auction containing 169 lots is currently live online and utilizes the theme of entertainment. It is comprised of books and items pertaining to music, film, theater, and dance.

Available material in the music genre includes sheet music, books about classical music, The Beatles, Barbara Streisand, Michael Jackson, Elvis Presley, and many more famous acts. There are song books going back to the late 1890s. Film-related materials include books about James Stewart, "Downton Abbey," and Academy Award-winning film directors.

Bidding on each lot starts at just $1. Local pickup in Conway is available. Shipping may also be available depending on the item, but arrangements must be made in advance with the auctioneer on an item-by-item basis.

The auctions can be reached by visiting auctionninja.com/orfantiques and clicking on Friends of the Meredith Library Book Auction.
