PLYMOUTH ― Each year, Lakes Region Mental Health Center presents two prestigious awards to members of the greater Lakes Region community who have championed the cause of mental health and supported LRMHC’s efforts to promote mental health awareness.
The Helen Holbrook Service Award is presented to an individual who leads by example, dedicating themselves to strengthening the cause of mental health in the greater Lakes Region. This year’s recipient is New Hampshire Executive Councilor Joe Kenney (District 1).
"The theme of this year’s Lakes Region Mental Health Center Annual Meeting is 'For Those Who Serve.' I can’t think of anyone that embodies service more than Joe Kenney," said Lakes Region Mental Health Center CEO and NH Community Behavioral Health Association President Maggie Pritchard. “He’s a U.S. Marine Corp veteran with decades of service, has worked in support of support drug and alcohol prevention programs, and served as the primary sponsor of the NH Purple Heart Trail Bill among others, and so much more. I hope that many will join us to celebrate Councilor Kenney’s service to our country, state, and District 1 on Oct. 27.”
The award will be presented to Councilor Kenney at Lakes Region Mental Health’s Annual Meeting on Oct. 27 at the Plymouth State University Merrill Place Conference Center, from noon to 2 p.m. The public is welcome and encouraged to attend.
