LACONIA ― Eastern Propane & Oil returns this year as the presenting sponsor of the 11th Annual Runaway Pumpkin 10K & 5K Run/Walk, a community fundraiser benefiting the WOW Trail. The event takes place Saturday, Oct. 24, at Opechee Park as part of the New Hampshire Pumpkin Festival.
The race draws approximately 700 runners and walkers, making it one of the Lakes Region’s largest road races.
“We’re excited to be part of the Runaway Pumpkin 10K & 5K,” said Stephanie Bernier, operations manager at Eastern Propane & Oil. “This event brings our community together while supporting the growth of the WOW Trail. As a family-owned business, we’re proud to support opportunities that encourage connection, healthy living, and community spirit. There’s no better time in NH to get outside to enjoy the autumn weather, and my family and I look forward to walking and running with everyone on October 24th.”
“The team at Eastern has been a great supporter of the WOW Trail since the beginning and brings so much enthusiasm to the Runaway Pumpkin each year,” said Jennifer Beetle, event director and WOW Trail board member. “We’re grateful to have them back as our presenting sponsor.”
“The Runaway Pumpkin is a great way for the whole family to enjoy a fall day together while supporting the WOW Trail,” Beetle added. “We offer youth and kids discounts, and the Kids Fun Run, put on by the Downtown Gym, is always a big hit. We encourage all ages to come in costume ― or just wear orange and join the fun.”
Participants are encouraged to register by Oct. 10 to receive a long-sleeve technical event shirt sponsored by Meredith Village Savings Bank.
Proceeds from the event support the continued development and maintenance of the WOW Trail.
